At Home: the Growing Discount Home Furniture Store You Should Know

A one-stop shop for home decor

If I had to choose one home décor store as my favorite right now, I would probably have to go with HomeGoods. What can I say—I love a good bargain! But my go-to shop may soon have some competition in the form of new kid on the block At Home.

Many are still unfamiliar with At Home, since it has not yet reached every U.S. market, but the company has been around since 2011. At Home claims to have items for every budget, and in their store you'll basically find that they have the same types of products as HomeGoods.

But the difference is that majority of the items in At Home are unbranded, private label, or made specially for them. And it gets better—their stores are gigantic. Think about how huge K-mart stores were, because they are the same exact size. Each At Home store is approximately 110,000 square feet, which is a teeny bit smaller than your average Target.

At Home understands who their consumer is and what she needs (spoiler alert: constant, chic updates to her home). "Her home is a representation and extension of who she is," the company's website states. "Decorating her home is a continuous, ever-evolving process that can be as simple as replacing patio cushions with a new seasonal pattern or as involved as updating the look of a whole room or the entire house."

Currently, there are only 180 At Home stores across the U.S., a number that pales in comparison to HomeGoods's 500. But the company has plans to expand to 600 stores in the near future, so there just may be an At Home coming to a town near you. And if so, you'll want to get your wallet ready!
