Rapunzel tower in Wales

Travellers in search of a truly special place to stay in the UK this summer can spend the night in a real-life Rapunzel tower nestled in the Snowdonia National Park.

Perfect for a staycation in Wales, the gothic Brynkir Tower is where you can let down your hair in a fairy tale setting.

Offered for rental by Sykes Holiday Cottages, the tower dates back to 1821 and was built by British engineer and inventor Sir Joseph Huddart to commemorate his knighthood at the time of the coronation of George IV.

The Grade II listed tower fell into disrepair over the years but has now been fully restored for those looking to soak up its history and explore the scenic location.

Ideal for a romantic break with its rolltop bath and stunning views, the holiday rental also makes for a fantastic family break, especially for fans of Tangled who can live out their Disney fantasy.

It sleeps four people in two bedrooms and you can bring your four-legged friends as two dogs are allowed to stay, too.

The tower is packed with unique features, including an arched gothic doorway and traditional windows. Once you arrive, you make your way up a spiral staircase to reach each floor, which contains a single room with its own style.
